Dearest Family and Friends

The day of Luis' baptism

This is from the day Luis was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Dearest Family and Friends,

Last Monday was so crazy but so incredible!! Luis was baptized! The Spanish Elders were able to come down and bring a family that they've been teaching. Elder Guzman was the one to baptize Luis and it was so special because they realized they're from the same place in Mexico! Veracruz! The ward was so supportive and a lot of them came even though they didn't speak the language and couldn't understand anything! All that attended, Spanish or English speaking, could feel the Spirit so strongly. It was a really special experience and Luis was just GLOWING afterwards! He was confirmed yesterday in sacrament and it was beautiful. I just feel so lucky to have been a part of this. You can truly see a change in Luis as he's made these important steps to follow his Savior.

Hna Ihler got her visa!!!!! President called last night and left a message for us to call him back and she was FREAKING out! She somehow just knew that it was about her visa- when he told us she was leaving it was so exciting but so sad! I'm so grateful that part of the Lord's plan for her was to come and serve here and with me of all the crazy people! She will be missed and I know that she will do so many amazing things in Argentina! She leaves Wednesday so we've been trying to make the most of these last two days! Hna Idso and I are planning some surprises for her tomorrow ;)

We watched the last scene of the Testament video with some of our favorite members the Murdock family yesterday and the Spirit was SO strong. I felt of the love that our Savior has for each and every one of us. One of the reasons I love the Book of Mormon so much is because it is a testament that Christ does not forget any of us. He did not forget the people in the Americas and he does not forget us. I could barely bear my testimony yesterday because I was so choked up. My understanding of the Love that the Savior has for us has increased so much on my mission. If there's anything I want to accomplish on my mission, it is to share with the people here that I serve and all of you the love that our Savior has for us. I want all to know the power of the Atonement and how we can apply it in every single part of our lives. The power of the Atonement has the power to fix and fill in every crack of our hearts.

I love you all so much and am so grateful to have you in my life :)

Miracles!

Hello friends and family!

We had the craziest miracle this week! Our investigator Luiz wasn't able to meet with us last Monday and it was his only day off and he had a baptismal date for today so we didn't know what to do! We fasted for him on Wednesday and felt prompted to type up the last few lessons about commandments along with our testimonies and leave them at his house for him every night. We were able to visit him for a half hour Sunday morning and not only had he read all of them but he committed to living all of them and said he wanted to go forward with his baptism today! We had him Skype with Elder Monson this morning and his baptism will be at 6 tonight! We are so excited and you can just feel and see the brightest light radiating from him! The Lord is truly preparing people in this part of His vineyard!!

We are still getting the details together but we know that tonight is going to be so special and I feel so grateful that I was able to witness this young man's conversion and his true desire to follow the Savior because of his great love for Him.

We got to go to a 7th Day Adventist church this last Saturday and it was so lovely and interesting. It made me really grateful to be a member of Christ's true church and have his true docterine on the earth. It was great to be in a Christian church but we are so blessed to have the full gospel! We ended up singing with them after church and got to sing some of our favorite hymns for them like Called to Serve and a Child's prayer.  They are great people!

Brothers and Sisters, I just want to bear testimony that I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know the peace we can receive from him is real. He is truly always there for us. Do not try to get through this life along, turn to your Savior.

Hola mi familia y amigos!

Hello!!! This week has been so fabulous! We had a zone conference with President and Sister Andersen last Thursday and it was such a pleasure to meet them and to hear of their strong testimonies! They are going to be so amazing here in the Tennessee Nashville Mission aka the best mission in the whole world! When they were called into President Eyring's office to accept their call, he told them that they would be in one of the most marvelous missions in the church. I'm not biased people- this really is the greatest mission- even President Eyring thinks so!

Luiz is still doing amazing! He took time off from work yesterday to come to sacrament and Sister Ihler gave an incredible talk in Spanish! It was so perfect! The Pastor family is really learning a lot as new members in the church and their son Manuel is really changing and we feel like he will make the decision to be baptized soon!

We had an experience this week that really testified to me the power of the Priesthood. We are so so so so blessed to have that power restored to the earth. Let us learn to use it as much as possible and to find more faith in this gift. I was able to receive a Priesthood blessing from one of the Elders after a bad experience and it was so incredible. I truly felt my Savior and Heavenly Father with me and knew that the words the Elder was speaking were not his own but my Heavenly Father's.

Paducah is still amazing and I'm having the time of my life!

I love y'all so much!

Hola! Hello everyone!

Our last day with President and Sister McKee

-just us gals- we love our trio!

Hello everyone,

This week has been so nuts but so amazing! We have met so many amazing people and have met so many more Hispanics to teach!

We had a really powerful and sweet zone meeting with the McKee family (our mission president). It's been really really hard saying goodbye to them. This family and their service have changed me forever and I will always be grateful.

We just found out that none of us will be leaving this transfer! Paducah forever! Also, we will be getting our own apartment finally this week and we can't wait! 5 Sister missionaries in one apartment is just a little too much!

I had an experience this week that confirmed to me even more that the Plan of Salvation is so real. Heavenly Father really does have a plan for us and I know with all my heart that we all lived together with him and our Savior Jesus Christ before this life. I know that many of us were friends before we came here and we are so lucky that our paths have crossed in this life!

Brothers and Sisters, I know that this is Christ's true church. I know that many of you know this as well and I pose a question for you: what are you willing to do with that knowledge? Knowing what Joseph Smith and the early saints did and sacrificed to bring this gospel to us in these Latter-Days, what are you willing to sacrifice and do to do the same for others? Knowing of your Savior and all that He did to provide a way for us to return to our Heavenly Father and be with our families forever, how can you help others receive the blessings of eternal life?

The Lord needs us to be loving but bold at this time.

I love you all so much!

This is me at the LaRoe's house with their 123 chickens! -and holding their kitten.

We found an abandoned train...
I actually got my feet on both sides of the tracks!

The food that a bunch of random Hispanic men cooked for us at the park! I ate cactus and it was kind of good! and I started their fire for them! -thanks to my scoutmaster dad :-)

Typical Kentucky road....love it here!
